Median urinary iodine: no data. A national survey in 1995 reported 32% goiter. Regional survey in Cacheu, Oio, Gabu, conducted by Ministry of Health and WHO. Children and women constitute the most affected group. In Gabu, 90% of children between the ages of 6-12 years suffer from goiter, and in Bafata, 76% of the women have goiter. No data on UI.
